Rear Bike Rack
Not enough people ride their bicycles, though it is probably the most easier to find and most beneficial exercise for any person of any age. In fact, it just might be one of the cheapest exercises because there is very little equipment need to participate in it. Of course, a high quality bike is the most important part. It should fit the ride and be personalized in any way the rider feels necessary. It should not be too big or too small, because discomfort will discourage the rider from getting a good work out. A place to ride is very important, because a very hilly and wild trail may be too complex for a beginner. Safety equipment is also key. But what about a bike rack?
There are a few different kinds of bicycle racks, and many of them work in different ways. Some of them are for those who plan to head to the park on a whim, and should be more permanent so the bicycle can always hitch a ride. Others are better for those who are less frequent rides. People who like to go on the bike trail with the whole family will need a bicycle rack that can load many bikes at one time. One variety of bicycle rack is placed on top of the car. If one is rather tall or can easily access a step ladder or another way to get up there, it is fairly easy to strap a bicycle to the top of their car. The only problem is the potential damage that can be caused if one forgets to take the bicycle off the roof of the car before backing into the driveway. Otherwise, it is very popular can load more than one bicycle at once.
Another variety of bike rack is the kind that is attached to the rear of the vehicle. It is sometimes hard to attach the rack itself to the rear of the vehicle, so it is more of an option for those who do not plan to take it off and put it back on many times. However, once the rack is attached to the car or van, it is fairly easy to get the bike on the rack because it is not too high. The bicycle is then simply pushed onto the bars and then strapped on for extra security.
Many families use this type of rack, as it can hold from 4 to 6 bicycles. A problem associated with the rear loading bicycle rack is the fact that you can not open the trunk while the rack and bikes are on it. This is not a problem for many users, however, because groceries can be loaded into the vehicle from the side doors of the car, though it can still be an inconvenience. So, it is up to the consumer to decide which type of bike rack is the best for him or her, because each one has benefits and disadvantages.
